The lyrics of the song are a lot darker than they first appear to be when you first listen to the song. The song is talking about a girl whom the singer is interested in, but interested in because of how different she is to all other girls. The girl seems to have a strong effect on the lead singer which leads to an almost obsessive tone to the song as it appears that he is trying to get her out of his mind. The song also has quite a mystical tone to it due to the older style of the lyrics, especially within the quote from the first verse 'Days of yore' (along with some of the longer words such as 'anaphorically') which gives an old fashioned feel to the song creating a vintage tone.
